Class of 2024

The Midlakes Athletics Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2024, which will join its 2023 inductees for its Hall of Fame induction ceremony on September 29 at Club 86 in Geneva.

Sean Peacock, one of Midlakes most accomplished wrestlers ever, and the near-perfect 2007 championship boy's volleyball team are scheduled to join former Midlakes stars Tyler Smith and Jason Charlette, who were accepted into the Hall of Fame in 2023, during the ceremony.

"We are excited to welcome these exceptional student-athletes and the 2007 boys volleyball for induction into the Midlakes Athletics Hall of Fame,” said Rick Ciciarelli, chair of the selection committee. "They all had a profound impact on the athletic program at Midlakes High School, marked by excellence in competition and as outstanding representatives of their school.”

A committee of former coaches, administrators, and community supporters considers individual athletes, teams, and exceptional contributors for induction into the Hall of Fame. Athletes are eligible for induction 10 years after they graduate.

Here’s a closer look at the 2024 inductees.

He was named Midlakes “Rookie of the Year” in seventh grade after taking fourth place in the Class BBB Sectionals and was named as Midlakes “Most Outstanding Wrestler” in Grades 8-12. During his wrestling career, he won three league titles, three sectional titles, three Super-Sectional titles, and a state title his sophomore year, when he finished the season ranked first in New York State among Division II schools in his weight class.

The Daily Messenger twice named him its “Wrestler of the Year.” Also, he made First-Team All-League, the Daily Messenger’s First Team, and the All-Greater Rochester team multiple times. As a freshman, he ranked third in the state among Division II schools in his weight class and second in his weight class among Division II schools in New York State at the end of his senior year.
